Shashi was recognised for his contributions to art and the friendship between Tukuche and Toga, Japan.

The award was given by representatives of the Thakali community and the Minister for Commerce, also aThakali, at the 12 year festival of Lha Phewa.
The award recognises Shashi’s dedication to traditonal art and sadhana, his prowess due to his practice and diligent effort.

For applying the rules of iconography, including three years painting the Toga mandalas, as well as monasteries throughout Mustang.
